Is anyone familiar with how Countrywide Home Loans handles escrow closings? Escrow was scheduled to close on 04/15/08. As of today, it hasn't. On the 15th, we received a phone call from Countrywide at 7 PM, stating that my wife & I needed to have an account showing 5% of the purchase price. Has anyone ever heard of this happening on the day that escrow is scheduled to close? Isn't this particular request something that should have been brought to our attention prior to escrow starting?
Does CountryWide Home Loans Really Not Accept Reaffirmation Agreements for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Clients? I contact Countrywide to request a reaffirmation agreement for one of my chapter 7 bankruptcy clients and they said that they don't accept them! Is this True? If it is, they are setting themselves to loose A LOT of money in the near future with all of the foreclosures and people filing bankruptcy!

How does Countrywide Home Loans get away with breaking federal laws regarding PMI? I bought a home several years ago and there was a bait and switch at the closing. The mortgage company, DHI Mortgage, slapped me with $300+ per mth. of PMI and I was stuck. They assured me that the PMI could be removed within 6-12 mths. They sold the loan to Countrywide and they did remove the PMI, but without my knowledge put it back on several mths. later AND took the payments out of my escrow acct. which caused my mortgage to skyrocket from $1300 to $2900 a month because they said DHI never paid the PMI - even though I paid it every month. Here's the catch - DHI never disclosed any terms of the PMI to me at the closing AND I have in writing DHI admitting this. In other words neither mortgage company has a signed disclosure from me about the PMI but Countrywide refuses to take it off and think they can supercede Federal Law. My home was appraised in 2005, and the value is way below the 80% mark which is the guideline for PMI in the first place. Now I am in finacial ruins. HELP

Quicken Loans transfer my mortgage to their "parter" Countrywide Home Loans? I recently closed purchasing a house and used Quicken Loans for my mortgage. My first payment was 1/1/2008. A few days ago I got a letter in the mail stating my loan have been transfered to Countrywide Home loans. What the crap? One thing my loan originator tol me was Quicken has an exclusive benefit of being able to reapply after being at a rate for 6 month in your loan if the rates should decrease. With no costs involved. Now that sounded to good to be true. Is this a ploy they routinely do to stop people from using this or other benefits. I should have went with my local bank since they offered the same rate and term. Also quicken was very HIGH PRESSURE. wanting me to electronically sign right away and giving me payment quotes when i wanted rate information, closing cost and points. It was pulling teeth to get them to just tell me what i asked and when i said nevermind then they gave me the info. of course he had to go to his manager to remove the 1 point my local bank wasnt chargin

Should I continue finalizing my home loan with CountryWide? As we all know, they are facing bankruptcy. I am one of the last ones that they offered 100% financing with, and my terms are great, even other mortgages companies told me they cannot beat what Country Wide offered me. So what can happen to my loan if they go bankrupt? Also, should I try to seek financing elsewhere because of this fact?

Countrywide did bait and switch on home loan, my payment went from 2900 to 3200 can I extend escrow & compare? We have not closed on the home but we are very close. When I went in to sign loan docs, my payment went up and they made a bunch of excuses as to why. I was dumb, felt pressured, and signed. Can I do something to extend escrow so I can see if another lender can do better?
Has anyone worked for Countrywide as a Home Loan Consultant? I am considering looking into working for them, I work for a rival major competitor however, I would like to know what their compensation plan is before I invest time into pursuing it. If anyone knows someone who works there, please let me know what their bonus plan is. This is the Prime lending division, not the subprime division. Thanks.
How good of a company is Countrywide for refinancing and home equity loan? I AM LOOKING TO REFINACE MY HOUSE AND TRYING TO TAKE SOME CASH OUT BUT DONT KNOW WHICH COMPANY TO GO WITH.
Why do businesses like home mortgage(CountryWide) lead money to people who can not pay it back? From the news media, there are a lot of home foreclosures from mortgage companies such as Countrywide. The employees who write these loans have business degrees and experience in home mortgages yet they go ahead and create and approve loans that can't be repaid! Can anyone explain to me why would any business do something like this?
When do Countrywide Mortage Payments need to be made to B of A? Bank of America recently purchased home loans from Countrywide. Since B of A now owns the loans, when do mortgagors have to start paying B of A instead of Countrywide? I'm wondering because under law once you are on notice of a lender transfer, if you pay the old lender, you are liable to pay twice for failure to pay the correct lender.
Does Countrywide Mortgage offer bi-weekly payments? Just wondering if anyone knows if Countrywide Home Loans will do automatic bi-weekly payments for my mortgage? Thanks.

Am I the only one who HATES the Countrywide spokesperson? You know the gray-haired skinny guy who talks in that way-too-happy-and-calm voice about Countrywide home loans and refinances and stuff? I don't know what it is about him. But every time a Countrywide commercial comes on, with him standing there next to those cheap PowerPoint-looking captions... it makes me want to throw something against the wall really hard. AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO IS IRKED BY THAT GUY?!
Does anyone know what it takes to get qualified for Countrywide home mortgage? My husband and I found a house we really like. It is bank owned by Countrywide. We must get pre qualified before submitting an offer does anyone know how to go about this and what is required? Our realtor isn't really helpful. Also, once we get pre qualified can we then get a loan through a bank of our choice or does it have to be Countrywide? Thanks!

What happens to my mortgage if my lender files for bankruptcy? There seem to be issues for Countrywide Home Loans and the "B" word seems to be surfacing in some news items and discussions. If something were to happen such as a lender going bankrupt, what happens to the mortgages? Would mortgages be sold off to other lenders and terms remain the same, effectively making the occurance transparent to mortgagees? Or are there risks to the mortgagees? And for what it's worth, whether or not Countrywide is at a real risk of bankruptcy or not, I'm just wondering in general what it means if such an occurance takes place. http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070816/wall_street.html?.v=6
Has Anybody Been Helped By Countrywide On Their Sub prime Loan So That They Do Not Loose Their Home? Has Countrywide stepped up like they said they would with a rate freeze? or any other solution to the mess they caused so that you could keep your home?
applying for job @Countrywide next week they are giving me a personality test, I failed it 1yr ago, whatdo i do Oh, I didn't realize I would have more space to write, but now I can be more specific. I failed the "Personality Profile Assessment Test" or whatever they call it at Countrywide Home loans a year ago, it was a computerized test, multiple choice and took about an hour. I think at the time I tried to answer the questions in a manner which I thought they were looking for, but I failed. I didn't make it to the interviewer! It was crazy because i am excellent at what I do, every one loves me, I look great, I have a fantastic attitude, I don't know what they are looking for. Should I just answer the test honestly this time? Now that I think about it, I suppose I just answered my own question. However, any info would be greatly appreciated as to where in the world did they come up with those crazy questions. I Still have over 167 characters left to type, but I shall spare you the now 108 6 4 2
What happens to my mortgage loan if my mortgage company files bankruptcy? There are strong rumors that Countrywide Home Loans is about to file bankruptcy. My loan is in good standing, but I don't know how their financial troubles will affect my individual loan.
I filed for chapter 7 and it was discharged a year ago. One of the creditors which is Countrywide is? Countrywide home loans is the creditor that is still showing open and I also get a bill every month even thought that this creditor was discharged I have been disputing this for the last 7 months and I'm not getting anywhere(I have notify and dispute the account with them as well as the credit reporting agencies). As a consumer how I'm protected under the fair credit reporting act? what kind of rights do I have ? I know that my credit is less than perfect and it will be like that for the nex 10 years but Countrywide is making this long recovery process a big hassle! Any ideas please let me know. Thank You,
Countrywide Home Loans???? Well it is no secret that I hate Countrywide, and upon ending up in a foreclosure and have gotten ourselves out of it,we found out 2 days ago that the cashiers check that we sent them back in Feb.06 certified and overnight mail seems to now not exist.I even checked a couple days after I sent it and they had recieved it.Luckily for reciepts, but knowing them this is going to be a long battle.Another thing( wish I knew more back then but...) we had purchased our first house in 1999,just so happens it was a foreclosed home owned by them.Anyway we bought it for $105,000 and 1 1/2 years later we sold it.When we arrived at closing all of a sudden the pay off amount had changed!! How can it be that the pay off amount was just under $105,000,the same price as we purchase it for?? I know not all of the payment goes to the principal but 19months of payments and the pay off was almost the exact same as the purchase. What do you think?? Serious answers please.foreclosure was due to bad communication. by the way we did not get a foreclosure notice on the home we bought for $105,000 and also even if only $86.00 was applied to the principal that would still be an amount of $1,6034,then the pay off should have been 103,366 not almost $105,000 the house we paid off back then, all 19 payments were never ever late.so there were no late fees.the house we have now we have all those types of fees. But now you have me wanting to look back at some old payments.I will be busy tonight with all those files. Now I am real curious.I have all the paper work from owning the first house. the house we paid off back then, all 19 payments were never ever late.so there were no late fees.the house we have now we have all those types of fees. But now you have me wanting to look back at some old payments.I will be busy tonight with all those files. Now I am real curious.I have all the paper work from owning the first house.
A Home Refinancing Question? Ok ... I have received a letter which mentions these things ...WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ???? you may refinance and possibly lock in a interest rate and get a good amount of cash from your home's estimated available equity through exclusive fast track loan program, available to you as a select, qualified COUNTRYWIDE home loans customer ? On top of this you may also qualify for 1/2 point reduction in in the DISCOUNT POINTs on your NEXT HOME REFINANCE or Purchase Mortgage .. Countrywide Home loans? Refinancing through them
My home taxes and insurance is paid thru our escrow...is this included on our 1098? We have our mortgage thru Countrywide Home Loans. We received out 1098 that shows the amount of mortgage interest we paid. However, part of our mortgage payment goes towards the escrow acct that then pays our insurance and real estate taxes. Will we get another form that shows what we paid or do I need to contact Countrywide to find those amounts out? I assume the 1098 we got DOES NOT include the taxes and insurance and that it is tax deductible for us, right? Someone posted that paying escrow is not paying property taxes. However, my escrow acct paid the taxes so don't I get to take the real estate tax deduction based upon what Countrywide shows they took from MY escrow acct to pay those taxes?
Down payment on home purchase - funds from Husband? My husband and I are purchasing a home via Countrywide in Georgia. My husband has saved the money for the downpayment (in a shoebox, basically, not in a savings account - he's old fashioned!), of which he has in cash and will give to me to deposit in the bank to show as proof of the money in my account. Countrywide Loan Officer indicates that they need to show proof of the funds debited from his account, and into mine. We close in less than two weeks, and this process might take too long, and I am not sure if we are getting the run around from Countrywide. Can they do this? Any thoughts?

Getting the most out of a home loan? My husband will be stationed on a carrier that is moving from a local shipyard in Newport News VA, to about an hour south of us in Norfolk VA. We just purchased our first home in Williamsburg VA with a Countrywide VA (veterans) loan of $230,000. We want to keep this house and rent it out to a family, and purchase a condo or townhouse closer to the shipyard in Norfolk, to live in while he is stationed there. I have heard that lenders don't include rent money paid to us when calculating our debt-to-income ratio. Is it true? and is there any other way to convince a bank to lend us more money for a second property?
Home Loan Question? I am purchasing a home currently, but I have not closed, nor have I signed any documents finalizing anything... I have placed a deposit only for $6,000. The house has now been appraised under what the company is selling it to me for(kbhomes)... Because of this, the loan company (Countrywide) is wanting to change my loan from 100% to now wanting me to put 3% down. Before this everything was fine, I have already been approved for the total amount of the home loan (100% financing), we're just waiting to close and the house to be finished. But now CW wants to change up the loan... is there anything I can do? I don't think i should have to put anymore money down.
