How do I get Countrywide mortgage to escrow my homeowners association fee? I've just spoken to a Countrywide rep, it sounds like they just don't escrow homeowner associates. HOWEVER, talking to the homeowners association rep they indicated that there is a way to do it (they didn't know how) because some people did have their associations escrowed through Countrywide. Any suggestions of how to get this done? Thanks.
Does anyone know what it takes to get qualified for Countrywide home mortgage? My husband and I found a house we really like. It is bank owned by Countrywide. We must get pre qualified before submitting an offer does anyone know how to go about this and what is required? Our realtor isn't really helpful. Also, once we get pre qualified can we then get a loan through a bank of our choice or does it have to be Countrywide? Thanks!
Is Obama a hypocrite by hiring an insider from "countrywide mortgage company"? In April he vehemently attacked the leadership at countywide. Then he vehemently denied that this employee was a poor choice. Then he denied he was an employee but simply a volunteer. Then he said that his campaign could not vet every worker. Then he fired him the next day Jim Johnson worked for Fanny May, but he was friends with board-members of Countrywide. That is why he got great deals on his mortgages from them. Dane said it best: He wants to be a populist and will rail against the villian du jour but will still go to bed with them.
Am I getting ripped off from my mortgage lender (countrywide), they locked in a rate without my permission? I'm purchasing a home and I got quotes from different large banks and countrywide gave me the best quote at the time (30 yr fixed 6.75 (1pt), 2nd loan HELOC at prime plus 1% (9.25%). Plus I was already preapproved by them. I never locked in a rate but was told my mortgage lender locked in the rate for me (can they do that? I didn't ask them to). I was waiting for the feds to lower the rate(9/18). He sent me the good faith estimate and Lock in agreement. On the lock in agreement it says float also I noticed it said (1.125 pts instead of 1 pt we had discussed earlier) but when I emailed him he said its locked in. He said he'll try to look for a price reduction. Can he do that when he already locked in the rate? If we go with another lender who will give us a better rate do we have to pay appraisal fee, processing fee, credit report fee, courier service fee, and etc? Even though we didn't verbally or sign anything to lock in the rate can they charge us for the fees? Thank you in advance. I forgot to mention it is stated income, jumbo non-conforming loan, 2nd home but primary residence in CA and a median fico score of 760. no prepayment penalty. 10% down. purchase price $861K.
Do I go with CountryWide for my first mortgage? My husband and I have lived in apartments for the past 10 years of our marriage. However with the recent adoption of our daughter, we want to "settle down" into a home of our own. We were stupid in our early twenties and made a mess of our credit score (back then who even thought about their credit scores???). With alot of work and an excellent job promotion we were able to bring up our score up a total of 120 points within the last 6 months. We looked into CountryWide for a mortgage (a realtor suggested them in passing) and though our score isn't high enough for a 80/20, we did qualify for a 100% loan but with a higher intrest rate (between 7 and 7.25) and PMI. My question is do we even consider this offer with the mortgage economy and CountryWides reputation? Do we look at our own bank even though we have a very small down payment saved ($5,000 )and our credit score isn't at 660 (which we were told was the magic number for a great interest rate? ) but well above 620?
Does anyone have their Mortgage through Countrywide? I'm one of those Californians who is stuck in the terrible declining housing market. I tried to refinance, however the value of my house is upside down due to the decline in market value. So, I cannot refinance at this time. My adjustable just went up 1200 in one full swoop. Countrywide has an Interest Rate Modification program. I've applied for that. I was wondering if anyone is in this program and how it's working for you?
Should I trust a one-stop broker for mortgage and real estate, who uses Countrywide Bank as a lender? I guess this is a two part question: Should I use a one-stop broker who handles mortgage and real estate, in Houston? Then, they also use Countrywide Bank as their primary lending partner. Should I go with that company? please read the description a bit more... it's not the mortgage broker that I am concern about, it's the one-stop real estate broker who has in-house mortgage dept. The real question is: should I worry if someone does both from same office?
Should I use Countrywide or Chase for my mortgage? I have been working with Countrywide, but I hear that Chase is good. I am a first time homebuyer with good credit. Also, if you have insight of the benefit of FHA vs. Conventional loans for a first time homebuyer, please share :) i don't have alot for a downpayment...5% tops.
Countrywide mortgage affected by Bank of America??? SO if Bank of America buys out Countrywide, what does that mean for people who have a mortgage with Countrywide? 1. Does the mortgage rollover to Bank of America at the same fixed rate you locked in? 2. Does your mortgage get sold to another comapany with the same rate? 3. Should this merger worry homeowners?
I live in Florida and I need to file a formal complaint against Countrywide Mortgage.? Writing to their CEO has not helped. They adveritise "no closing costs" and when I went to refinance they tacked on 25,500.00 in closing costs!! I'm a current customer of theirs so if anything you'd think I'd get better not worse treatment than a new customer. Any information would help. I tried filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but they don't handl this type of complaint.
my son has lost three buyers because his mortgage is held by Countrywide? my son has been trying to sell his home in Dolton and has had three buyers but once they get past the appraisal and an offer is accepted Countrywide gives the buyrers such a run around they never get to a closing and the buyers give up. Is there anything he can do? Is there anyone out there that can help him?
Countrywide Mortgage loans for Calpers? Countrywide told us we would get 6% 30 year fixed loan because we are state employees and it's one of the benefits of Calpers. Is this true? I'm scared it may be a teaser rate and once we sign the agreement we're locked with them and they can give us any rate hereafter. Some background info (credit score of 740, 417k loan, 24% down)
Anyone else been screwed by Countrywide Mortgage? I have sent in three contracts that I had for closing with buyers for the home. Countrywide repeatedly ignored these contracts, and kept telling me that it takes 4 weeks, then 6 weeks, then eight weeks to be approved. I talked with Adrienne Thomas and she referred me again to another person named Joel Cox. I talked with Joel Cox numerous occasions, he gave me the excuses that my realtor was unreachable, etc. and this is not true. When I was begging him for an approval, he non-chalantly told me that there were other people ahead of me. It is now April, I have a contract again to close they have this contract, and this is my fourth one sending in. I do not want to lose it again, -it has been way over 6 weeks to gain an approval, and no one has called me to give me a status. I think the way they do business is not in favor for the customer. I am not sure, but it seems like they want their customer to go into foreclosure no matter what. Do not do business with them.
Has anyone had a mortgage modification with Countrywide? We are with Countrywide and are making only minimum payments on our current mortgage, with negative amortization. We need help before we crash.... Has anyone had, or know someone, their loan modified. What were the terms? Thanks.
First time Home Buyer, Countrywide or WAMU mortgage loan? I am in the process of buying my first home in NYC, >I wanted to know which lender is better? (rates, customer service, company reputation? etc?) > I have 20 % to put down. >any personal experience / advice you can share with me? Thanks!
Can you buy a mortgage without living in the state that property is located in? I live in Miami but want to purchase a home in San Antonio, Tx. I wouldnt be moving there any time soon since I stil have to finish my school program. I intend on buying and renting out until I decide to make the big move in like a year or 2. I recently found out that I can not use my realtor from Miami to make the purchase, But what about the mortgage broker? Ive called a couple and they have said they dont write mortgages for other states, just FL. Is there a way to get a mortgage without having to use one in San Antonio? What do you think about that " countrywide" mortgage company? any good?
Mortgage re-finance question: Countrywide? My mother has a re-fi mortgage with Countrywide for the last 3 years. I've heard recently that they're going bankrupt. Is this true and what's going to happen to her re-fi?
Has anyone else had problems with Countrywide Mortgage company being sneaky and dishonest? I have a mortage with them, and I got a very good deal on my house. I went to refinance after a year to get a better interest rate and they had snuck into the contract that if I tried to refinance before a two year timeframe that I'd have to pay this HUGE early termination fee. (25,000!!) Is that legal? I was never told that at closing, now I have to wait until November to try to refinance this home or pay through the nose. Needless to say that it will be a cold day in Hell before I ever refinance with Countrywide. They're a bunch of lying, cheating buttheads!!!
If Countrywide goes under, what does that mean for the mortgage I have with them? I am currently trying to sell my condo in Miami Beach, FL. It's worth about $75-100k over what I bought it for, but as we all now, the market's a little rough right now. Then again, all you need is one buyer. Enough backstory. Question is...what happens to my mortgage if Countrywide goes under/bankrupt/etc? I'm currently behind on my mortgage slightly, and am dying to sell my place ASAP. Maybe I need not be in a rush though...I can't imagine that Countrywide could foreclose on myself (or many people) given their current situation. Can anyone provide some good insight or personal experience/expertise here? Thanks!
How to get your mortgage company to remove delinquencies? My husband and I were late on our mortgage payment last year and requested a loan modification. We had tried to resume making payments while they were supposedly processing our loan modification. They always return them. We call them every day, attempting to contact the person that is supposed to be working on our loan. Our mortgage company (Countrywide) has not contacted us in any way and always says that the person working on our loan is not available. Because of their now six months of not working on the loan modification they assured us was going through last year, we are showing seriously delinquent on our loan and getting more behind our mortgage all the time. Can we make a lump sum payment to bring everything current and write on the check that if they cash the check they are agreeing also to remove the delinquencies? Is that legal and binding? Thank you!

But if anyone can help answer, I greatly appreciate it. Thank you!)
should mortgage person be paid if no acceptable mortgage is calculated? I have 4 properties- 2 investment, 2 residential. My main home is with WaMu and has a second with Countrywide. The mortgage person told me he could get a second on one of my investment properties that he refinanced, then I could use that cash to re-fi my main home, I would be able to get out $12,000 and then combine the 1st and 2nd plus get lower payments on this home. This has been going on for 2months, and he just told me that he could not get the second from the rental, and that I would have to come to the closing with $20,000 for my main home to go through with WaMu,plus payment would be closeer to $2100,a month with escrows combined! I put a halt to this because it is a worse scenario than I have currently. He is stating that I should pay him $1000 for all his work! Do I need to pay him for his (as he stated child support)?
Quicken Loans transfer my mortgage to their "parter" Countrywide Home Loans? I recently closed purchasing a house and used Quicken Loans for my mortgage. My first payment was 1/1/2008. A few days ago I got a letter in the mail stating my loan have been transfered to Countrywide Home loans. What the crap? One thing my loan originator tol me was Quicken has an exclusive benefit of being able to reapply after being at a rate for 6 month in your loan if the rates should decrease. With no costs involved. Now that sounded to good to be true. Is this a ploy they routinely do to stop people from using this or other benefits. I should have went with my local bank since they offered the same rate and term. Also quicken was very HIGH PRESSURE. wanting me to electronically sign right away and giving me payment quotes when i wanted rate information, closing cost and points. It was pulling teeth to get them to just tell me what i asked and when i said nevermind then they gave me the info. of course he had to go to his manager to remove the 1 point my local bank wasnt chargin
Should I pay my mortgage company to refinance? My mortgage company (Countrywide) contacted me to let me know that it is a good time to refinance my mortgage. Given the times, should I offer to pay anything to refinance, or should I tell them sure let's refinance but I don't want to pay, or let's refinance but only for a couple hundred bucks?
Making a mortgage deal with Countrywide..? I live in Atwater, CA. and home prices have gone down just like everywhere else. My family moved to this house in jan. of 2006, we paid 260,000.00 for the home. we pay 1,600 each month, my parents don't think that it is in their best interest to continue making such a big payment on a home that is now worth 70,000 less.. when they first bought it, the realtor told them to refinance the home in 1 year. but since prices went down, they were unable to refinance to get a lower house payment. They are now considering to try and make a deal with the bank, Countrywide, they want to ask them to appraise the home and depending on the home value, to adjust the monthly payment depending on what the home is now worth, and not the amount as it was when we bought it, its not in best interest of the bank, I know. but if my parents loose the home, the bank will have to sell the home at the appraides value, this will just save them the work of looking for a new buyer.. What do you think? will it work?
I had a claim for a mortgage protection plan turned down by Countrywide Assured...? I have a strong case against Countrywide Assured, but i did not complain at the time of their final response due to my partners death and suffering from bereavement. But now i want to complain and get what should rightfully be mine. The Financial Ombudsmen have said the time i've taken to complain is an issue. What can i do next! My claim was knocked back due to health issues not being disclosed but i have proved that it was lawful and there case for knocking it back has so many holes in it, that it's funny. I have heard alot of similar cases paying out recently in the press. I originally had 6 months to complain, but in my eyes 6 months when you are bereaved and have a child to care for is utter nonesense.
Mortgage Closings? Does anyone know the answer to this perplexing question? I am suppose close on a property by the end of the month with CountryWide Mortgage. Now that another bank has bought them out (Bank of America) where does that leave MY closing? Will it be postponed, renegotiated, cancelled? It's frustrating enough with everyhting going on a timely basis but now this wrench has been thrown in to make matters worse. HELP, PLEASE!!!
